The Livestock Care Conference is an annual event showcasing speakers from Canada and around the world. The conferences centers around promoting responsible, humane animal care and continual improvement in Alberta's livestock production systems.

This year’s producer workshop is all about sheep!

  • Nationally recognized stockmanship instructor, Curt Pate, will give a demonstration of low-stress handling techniques for sheep on March 22 starting at 10 am.
  • Lorna Gibson will be giving a sheep body condition scoring demonstration.  Lorna has over 30 years experience raising sheep and was instrumental in the development of ALP's Shepherding 101 course.

This is an unique opportunity for sheep producers to learn practical and effective handling techniques and learn the principles of body condition scoring!

The demonstration will be held at the South Arena of the Olds College Campus, with the remainder of the conference held at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites in Olds.
Registration for the entire conference is $180 (general), or $25 to attend only the handling demonstration. Tickets are available from https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/2016-livestock-care-conference-tickets-18749938571
